Happy New Year! January 2021 Prayer

Father God, thank You for this new year and month! Thank You for new beginnings, new mercies each and every day! Lord God, prepare us for 2021 and 2021 for us! Lord God, may we seek and desire to be prepared to live even more fully and authentically with and for You in 2021!

Lord God, thank You that You call us to keep moving forward! While we are to reflect and learn from the past, our past is not to be an anchor weighing us down but a propeller moving us on. Lord God, may we be reminded that we are living in the land of in between. Your Kingdom has come but it is not yet consummated. May we persevere and have even greater awareness that this world is not our home!

Lord God, thank You for this reader. Lord God, for those who are in Christ may they start this new year with the reminder of who they are in Christ and their position in You as well. Lord, for the reader who does not know you, may today be the day of salvation. May today, the start of 2021 be the day where they come to trust Christ by grace through faith. Lord God, thank You that You are still saving sinners, sanctifying believers. May we thank and praise You that You are sovereign, controlling world events!

Thank You Jesus there is NO moment where you are not seated on the Throne! Thank You that NOTHING in 2021 will catch You off guard or surprise You! May we be optimistic about our walk with You this year regardless of our circumstances! May we be better prepared to handle change, challenge and hardship because of what we learned in 2020.

Lord God, may we trust You more this year rather than longing for comfort. I know this is an area where You are convicting me. I pray that I will grow in love, trust and obedience this year! Lord God, may we strip off our clothes of mourning and put on clothes celebrating You, manifesting Your fruit.

Lord God, may You strengthen this reader to hold fast to You this year. May this new year and new month be a time of renewal and refreshment. Lord God, may this time be one of excitement in what You will do knowing that You have been faithful in the past.

Lord God, thank You that Your Good News will continue to spread and thrive even when Satan, the world and the flesh does everything they can to stop and suppress it. May believers be reminded more this year that praise and prayer have power and both connect us to You and focus us on You and not our situations and circumstances.

Lord God, thank You for the gift of this reader! Lord, lead this reader by still waters today, where they will know that You love them and so do I! Thank You again Holy Trinity for the gift of new mercies and beginnings. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen and Amen.

      1. Thank you for sharing too! I want to write a prayer for you both…
Father God, I give you glory and praise for your children and servants Mandy and Nathan. I thank you that the great work you have begun in their lives will continue until the day of completion. I thank you Lord that they will be a beacon of light in the community they live in, a powerful testimony of the great saviour Jesus Christ. I pray health for them both and to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Let your love be the anchor father God and provide them with great courage to do your will. In Jesus Christ name I pray – amen.

      2. Amen! How beautiful and unexpected! Let me pray for you and Andreia! Lord God, I agree with Dean’s prayer what a massive blessing and gift! Lord God, lead and guide Dean and Andreia this year! May they grow together and individually in You. Fill Dean and Andreia with the Peace of Your Presence. Where they are lacking clarity, give them wisdom, where they are lacking in communication, give them understanding. Lord God, thank You that You use marriage to teach us how to pray! Lord God, use Dean and Andreia as a light in their community! May Dean continue to have courage to speak the truth in love on WordPress and in the town where he lives. Lord God, thank You for the gift of community. Lead and guide Dean and Andreia in this New Year. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen and Amen!

      1. Yeah, that would be cool! God willing, I pray the Lord opens a door for that! Let me know what day and time works, and hopefully we can meet up. We are in Port Charlotte. It can be hard for me to travel long distances sometimes with Celiac, so maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere. God bless!

  1. Thank you, Mandy, for this heartfelt prayer to the Lord! Many were worn down and discouraged by the circumstances of 2020. This prayer is a reminder that the Lord is sovereign and we are to keep our focus on Him.

  2. Will read this shortly! Happy New year! Responding to your comment on my post: Wow Sauerkraut sounds good! But I guess it must be made a certain way for it to be enjoyable? Are you Dutch/German in terms of your ancestry?

    1. I am German ancestry, Sweigart is about as German as it gets! Very few people know how to pronounce my last name let alone spell it. If Nathan is in a hurry he spells it wrong 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Where we live is the heart of PA Dutch/Amish country.

Do you guys like pickles? Next time I am at one of the markets that makes pickles and sauerkraut I will get some and send it to y’all! While I do NOT like it, everyone else I know does. We have friends who will come just for the food!

      1. I’m thinking more and more now and I’m wondering if I really had it….more than once. I like pickes for burgers but there’s a lot of things pickled that I have a hard time with it. Wow you live in Amish territory! Crazy! Was there fireworks yesterday for you all? We had fireworks go off, for the first time on New Years lol

      2. We had all kinds of fireworks going on around us. Nathan did better than I thought. Since moving, I know some of the neighbors set off big display of fireworks for 4th of July, I am half tempted to ask our next door neighbor to make sure no firework paraphernalia enters our yard as Nathan will be frustrated on so many levels!

      3. Thanks for sharing. This reminded me of a tangent of the first time we went to the rifle range after our Iraq deployment, the snipers in our infantry BN fired their 50 cal and we saw our staff Sgt jumped. Typical guys we laughed but I thought I saw many other guys flinched too but they tried hide it lol.

  3. Sorry for the delay in answering your question on my blog given ministry: I preached a topical sermon today on the discipline of studying God’s Word. Thought it was important to encourage people to study on their own the Word! Its cold here in california, too cold for me lol but can’t imagine your weather. I’m a tropic and desert Marine, this cold is miserable lol
