May 2021 Prayer

Lord God, thank You for another new month. Thank You for this time You have given us to love and serve You. Lord God, strengthen Your people in this new month. May we desire the things of You more than the things of this world.

Lord God, I pray for those who are suffering around the world. I pray Lord that those who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ will be an example to those who are not being persecuted. Lord God, there are threats and rumors of war everywhere. Only You Lord God change hearts. No social program no matter how good the intention will ever be able to do for men, women and children what faith, belief, trust, obedience and hope in Jesus can do.

Lord God, help us to have wisdom and discernment when it comes to our daily media diet. Help us Lord to filter everything we see and hear through Your Word and Character. Lord God, may seek Your Peace in this new month. Help us to take every thought captive this month as we seek to grow more in You. Lord God, thank You that even though the grass, flower, nature and this world are fading away, You Word will never fade away. Lord God, as more and more people and countries alter and distort Your Word may we have Your Word written on our minds, hearts and hands so that we will not be swayed nor dismayed.

Lord God, help us to resist evil and to draw near to You. Lord God, sin is truly crouching at the door. Help us to master our emotions so that they will not rule us. May Your peace, hope and freedom that we have in Christ be what rules in our hearts. Thank You that when we do not know what to pray Holy Trinity that You are interceding on our behalf taking our petitions and making them align according to Your Will.

Thank You Lord for this reader. Lord God, give them courage and boldness to stand firm in Your Truth this month. Give this reader grace and mercy to deal with difficult people and situations. Lord God, we pray for those who are far from Christ to seek Him in this new month while there is still time. Thank You Jesus that You are forever seated on the Throne. Thank You Holy Trinity that Your timeline of events cannot and will not be stopped. Come Lord Jesus. Amen.

    1. I wanted to come back and add that it’s great that you prayed, “Lord God, help us to have wisdom and discernment when it comes to our daily media diet.”

Because the internet is so new and the Bible doesn’t speak directly about it, a lot of Christians treat it the same way as nonbelievers– as a place to sow dispute, vent, rant, be vain, and seek popularity above all.

And yes, social media IS set up to outrage people, because that’s what gets clicks (the book “Trust Me, I’m Lying” by Ryan Holiday explains this well). And as Christians, we should know better.

So, again, thanks for adding that! It’s much more important than people realize. Thanks, Mandy! Hugs!!

      1. Hey, Yari! You are welcome here anytime!!!! Thank you for this insight! Although I have never been on social media, I will look into this book! I have my notifications turned off; however, I can spend way more time looking at “news” sites than is necessary!!! I am convicted that I need to take inventory on how distracted I become by electronic devices!! Love and hugs to you sweet friend!!!!

  1. How time flies, it is the first day of the month already. Praying with you on your heartfelt prayer, Mandy. It covers a lot of ground from personal (e.g. wisdom and discernment with the social media, focusing on GOD than self, grow in faith in GOD) to the concerns of fellow Christians. However, one concern coming from you that makes me see a threat i.e. rumors of war. But, with GOD’s Word written in our minds/hearts, we will never be scared. Peace!

    1. Amen, Kent! You are so right! “With God’s Word written in our minds/hearts, we will never be scared.” So thankful that Peace is a Person and His Name is Jesus. So thankful that God brings/gives peace in the midst of the chaos. I am working on a post for next week about how God is a God of order. So thankful for you brother!

  2. Amen!! Yes, Lord, may we seek after You, surrendering all control to You! May we seek after Your words above any other! For Your words alone hold perfect, unfiltered truth! Thank you, dear friend! Your prayers help spur me on! Love you! ❤

  4. Amein!

What a wonderful prayer to begin another month walking with our L-RD.

Often in the preaching of Pastor Martyn Lloyd-Jones I hear him say this same thing, that “No social program no matter how good the intention will ever be able to do for men, women and children what faith, belief, trust, obedience and hope in Jesus can do.”

L-RD Bless, Keep, Shine upon you and yours and keep you cradled in His arms, in His Shalom Peace. . .

      1. Sermon today was topical: “Practical Preparation for Lord’s Supper” and our Scripture reading was portion of Proverbs 1! Awesome for you to share that!

      1. I would love to hear them! I think it can be a great tool when used well!!! For me social media was a place where I felt like God was telling me to not go! I am SO thankful for all the ways God uses you and your Ministry and look forward to hearing your thoughts!!
