I come alive when I can encourage others in their walk with Jesus (whether by writing or speaking). As a “Blue Collar Theologian” it is my aim to live/practice/work out my Christian hope with sincerity, authenticity and genuineness. As a “Blue Collar Theologian,” I strive to meet people right where they are (“Incarnational Theology”). I graduated in May 2019 from Capital Seminary and Graduate School with a Master's in Biblical Studies. I am a passionate, excited and enthusiastic person! I love flowers, sports and sunsets. Since January 2, 2018 I have had the privilege of being married to Nathan.

    1. I had a moment last night. Nathan is in his glory and I am watching PQ. I see PQ looking very interested in something and I yell “leave it!”
Nathan walks over and says that’s coyote poop. I freak out, I’m like “is the coyote gonna parade himself on our boat?!” Nathan gives me the look and I just lost it. I was like this is too much. God gave me 4 good solid hours of sleep. I will have all kinds of stories to share!!!

      1. No wonder the smile and happiness in the morning! 😅 That comes in packages with nature tripping. It must have been a new animal for PQ. As long as the doors and windows are lock, these wild animals won’t barge in and of course, GOD is with you! I’ve not seen a live Coyote; only on screen and of course Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner.

    1. Ha! Thank you for noticing!!! My mom has asked for years for me to post a picture without a hat! I will blog on last night as a whole. I saw this story feature and thought I would give it a shot! Another UK weather day but hasn’t stopped us from fishing and enjoying the morning! You are loved, Alan!

    1. Aww, thank you!!!! I shared this with Kent but you may find humor in this, “I had a moment last night. Nathan is in his glory and I am watching PQ. I see PQ looking very interested in something and I yell “leave it!”

      1. It was where we parked the boat. We anchor the boat on shore by tying it off to 2 trees and we also potty PQ that way as well. So when he was running around and exploring he found it. I didn’t know if the coyote would want to come and see us. Craziness!!

      1. Thanks, Mandy! We take both sisters to the airport at noon today, that is if they can find the missing cat. One of the dementia sister’s two cats is extremely timid and only came out at night to sleep with her because she’s scared of the visiting sister. The plan was to keep the cat in an enclosed room as today drew closer, but of course the sister with dementia could not tolerate that “mistreatment” so this AM they’re searching and panicking. The cats have to be sedated an hour before they go to the airport.

      2. Thanks, Mandy! Got to my sister’s at 10:30AM and we were able to get both cats in the carriers, took them to the vets to get sedated, and I dropped them all off at the airport at 1:30 for their 3PM flight. The details of those three hours were like a horror show. While trying to corral the nasty cat I discovered a dead and petrified cat under my sister’s bed that’s been “missing” for eight months. Sorry for that gross detail but my jaw is still semi-dropped.

      3. I cannot tell you my initial response. Nathan asked, “what, what’s wrong?!” I read this to him and he had a better response “oh my!” God will reward you for being an amazing brother! I can’t imagine how even with an altered cognitive state one wouldn’t smell that. Man alive! At least your sisters and the cats made the plane. I just wow. Lots of love and hugs for you and Corinne! I hope you have something you enjoy whether meat and hot sauce, a grape pie, ice cream whatever for your efforts!!!!! Jesus loves you Tom and so do I!

      4. Thanks so much, Mandy. People hesitate to hang out family dirty laundry, but today was very challenging and disturbing. I appreciate your understanding. After dropping them off at the airport I actually did stop at the grocery for some “comfort” food. Thanks, Mandy. I love you, too, and thanks for “listening.”

I hope you and Nathan are enjoying the boat and the warmer temps!

      5. I am here to listen anytime. The weather was great this afternoon. Now that the sun is down the mosquitoes are out in full force. I have my thermacell on my person! Not sure if people should breathe this stuff in; however, I get bit so badly I will gladly take the health risks!!!! Praying you get really good sleep!

      6. Ach. Mosquitoes are soooo annoying. We generally have to go inside after 7:30PM.

Thanks, Mandy! Got a good sleep! The movers show up in three hours so I’ll be going over there shortly. Have a good day on the water!

    1. Thank you, Manu! God was gracious and I had 4 solid hours and woke up refreshed, renewed, prayerful and thankful. When PQ was interested in what I learned was coyote stool, I had concerns that a coyote was going to come on board or some other wildlife. The boat rental place requires that if we don’t come back to the marina at night that we tie the boat to two trees. Nathan’s in his glory which is great to see so at least tonight I will be better prepared! I hope you get some blissful slumber yourself!!! Is it now 26 May for you?!

    1. God is so amazingly good! I don’t usually do WordPress with my phone and saw this story option and I showed Nathan and he was like “that’s really cool!” I said, “should I post it and see what happens?!” He said, “Yes!” It’s funny, this is doing really well with the stats so I am thinking that people are expecting it to be something alcohol related. Only God knows if this will encourage anyone but I pray it will! It is so amazing to see Nathan have so much fun! If you see this and think of it pray that we stay awake because Nathan really wants to join us tonight; however, we’ve been awake since before you went to bed!

      1. Nathan’s company hired a prior Marine and I am so thankful for that! Am I allowed to ask what your MOS was? I was thinking something with communications but wasn’t really sure. I was also thinking you were also one of the first in Iraq but could be wrong on that as well!

      2. I was a field radio operator. Jin was part of the invasion and I entered Iraq three weeks after the invasion with another infantry BN. I don’t think I ever ask about the MOS of Nathan!

      3. Nathan loved your study! He said he learned a lot and says your a “heck of a teacher!” Nathan does NOT give false praise, I promise you that! I also know he really does think about and reflect on your teaching! I share (read him) a lot of your posts (he’s a hearer, loves to hear the Word read or preached)! For the past few weeks he has been staying up to pray with all of us and then goes directly to sleep.

It was such a gift to be able to join last night! It made Nathan feel good that he was so welcomed last night (some message him in the chat saying hi) and I am glad y’all could put a face with the name, like he really does exist! You’ll get this: Nathan’s call/code signal has always been various derivatives of ghost 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️I married the enigma and didn’t even know it. So glad that NO ONE on this planet past, present and future will ever be an enigma (mysterious, unknown or difficult to understand) to our Triune God! Sorry this was so long just really excited, thankful and joyful! Love and blessings to you and the family!

      4. Aww so glad to hear that. It’s a joy seeing him joining in with you for the study! That is kind of cool that Nathan’s call sign have some derivative of ghost. Wow I didn’t know he joined in with the Prayer portion for Tuesday night. That’s awesome!

  2. Praying y’all will be safe and sound and enjoy your time on the water. Most of all revel in the glory of G-D’s wilderness and wonderness.

Not to alarm, but yotes (coyotes) find small dogs a delicacy. They are not keen to be close to people, and generally don’t roam or hunt during the day. Also, they are fairly well fed up there, with wild game easy prey. However, do keep PQ inside or close by. Walk softly and carry a big stick while ashore.

Rejoice and Pray. Praise and Pray. Live and Love.

    L-RD Bless, Keep, Shine. . .

  3. Answering your question on my post: Today went to the dentist in the morning then came back! Going to wrap up my prep to teach the kids Bible study lesson (was super tired yesterday night and didn’t get to do studying); going to lead them with homeschooling soon with social studies after my wife is done with their lessons. Then at 3 PM I have an interview online for a podcast on the topic of prayer! Hope to squeeze in studying sometime today
