God’s Promise

Lord God, thank You for Your promises that are found in Your Word. Thank You that You are a covenant keeping God. Thank You that You do not give up on Your people even though we sin and fall short of Your standard daily. Lord, thank You for Your forgiveness, grace, mercy, patience, and love that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord. Triune God, You never cease to amaze me by how You make Yourself known in and through creation.

Lord God, whatever this reader is going through right now, remind them that Your promises are true. Your Word is true. Thank You Holy Trinity for Your indwelling presence.

Lord God, You know better than we do how badly Your rainbow is being distorted. Remind us Lord that You do not command us to “reclaim the rainbow” but rather You command us to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them Your ways (Matt 28:19-20). Lord God, may we share the Gospel authentically and in earnest while there is still time. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. Amen 🙏🏽. A beautiful prayer. You are right when you say that we are not commanded to go and reclaim the rainbow but share the gospel. Because when Someone accepts Jesus into their hearts they automatically will see the rainbow for what it truly is. Our focus should not be in the outward change of things but in the change of hearts.
    Blessings to you 🤗🌺

    1. “Reclaiming the rainbow” is in regards Christians wanting to reclaim the rainbow from the LGBT movement and the rainbow pride flag. I love what Manu said, “we are not commanded to go and reclaim the rainbow but share the gospel. Because when Someone accepts Jesus into their hearts they automatically will see the rainbow for what it truly is. Our focus should not be in the outward change of things but in the change of hearts.” Thank you David for praying with me!

      1. Thank you! I am still sick, but getting better.

On my old computer, I have a picture that I took many years ago of a huge rainbow — that ended in our driveway! Unfortunately, the pot of gold must have been at the other end. 😀

  2. I remember years ago when our church had the grand opening of their new building, after the service we came outside and saw a double rainbow across the whole sky. We of course saw it as a sign of God’s blessing. 😊💕
Thanks for posting this beautiful prayer.

  3. Prayed alongside here Mandy, and so true – we’re not called to reclaim the rainbow, but make disciples. May the Lord help us to value every encounter He plans as He orders our steps in this world.
    Have a good weekend sister!

      1. RE: work

Going good, thanks! After 7 days off because of plant shutdown, I wasn’t all that eager to return, but it turned out to be a much lighter day than I expected and tomorrow looks like almost zero work.

Hope you’re having a good weekend!

  4. Perhaps God will lead us to share the real meaning of the rainbow with other people in the future, and maybe they’ll know Him as a result. It would be a fun way to share, and perhaps would pique the curiosity of others by asking them if they know the true meaning.
