October 2021 Prayer

Lord God, thank You for this new month. Lord sharpen our focus so that we will be effective watchmen and lookouts for You this month. Lord God, cause us to grow in spiritual discernment this month so that we will not be swayed or taken in by false shepherds/leaders, false prophets and false teachers. Lord God, weed out the false leaders, pastors and teachers in Your Body who are not meeting the needs of Your people but rather exploiting them for their own selfish gain. Lord God, for those who are being deceived by the NAR and the health and wealth prosperity gospel have their eyes opened to Your Truth. Lord God, thank You and praise You that there will be a day when You hold all these charlatans accountable for the harm that have done to Your Name.

Lord God, give us wisdom and humble hearts so that we will not be deceived by all the lies that surround us. Lord God, help us to focus on Your Truth. Lord, help us to hold all things that we read, hear and see up to Your Word. Lord God, help us to live by faith and not by sight and emotions. Lord God, remind my brothers and sisters in the faith today that the law always reflects the law giver and only Your Law gives life. Only Your Law and Your Rule is Just. May we not lose sight of that Lord.

Lord God, thank You that You are greater than we can even begin to imagine. Thank You that EVERYTHING You do has a purpose whether we understand it or like it. Lord, there are things that happen in this life that are difficult to reconcile. There is suffering in the world and may Christians not shy away from conversations on suffering but share how You, Jesus understand and identify with our sufferings. Jesus may we never, ever forget that You are fully God and fully Man. Lord, You do not require us to understand everything or know everything; but, You do require that we follow You in obedience.

Thank You Lord that faith in You is not a blind a blind faith, but a reasoned and orderly faith. Lord God, help us to grow this month in appreciating our salvation. Lord God, help us to remain faithful rather than compromising and losing heart.

Lord God, thank You for this reader! Lord God, it humbles me that You know the needs of each and every person. It humbles me Lord that there has never been, nor will there ever be a language on earth which You do not know. Lord God, as hostility towards You and Your people grows all over the world, thank You and praise You that we can come to You and converse with You anytime, anywhere and in any language. Lord God, help us grow this month is recognizing that we do NOT belong to ourselves or to our small little circles. We belong to You and to Your Body. Help us to seek out ways to do good to people in this new month.

Lord God, for the person reading this who does not know You or who is questioning the faith; may today be the day of salvation. Lord God, when unbelievers see the changing of the seasons, may this also be an avenue which points them to You. Thank You Lord that You are intimately and actively involved in Your Creation! Praise You Lord that You are still in the heart changing business! Thank You that NOTHING we do will merit our salvation, it is Your Work from beginning to end. Lord God, thank You for Your love and patience with us. Thank You for Your correction and discipline, even when it hurts.

Lord God, may our love, passion and prayers increase this month. May we seek to use our words (whether oral or written) to praise and glorify You, encourage believers and share the Gospel with the lost. Thank You again Lord for this reader. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. Mandy, thank you for your all encompassing prayer! There are so many issues in the sanctification process a.k.a. Christian life that you included. True, GOD will definitely deal with those who used His name for their own gain. May those who are in that kind of worship use this “avenue” to seek JESUS CHRIST and know what is really important in faith in Him and not as blind followers to this kind of worship. Blessings to you and Nathan!

    1. I looked at the time when I hit submit and I thought, I hope I made it in time for your evening prayers!!!! As you did a great job showing in your blog, sanctification is a life long process and we have more things to derail our sanctification than ever before! I also hope that people in these false worship systems will seek Christ and not be blind followers. I know it is easy for me to question how people get sucked into this, but God has never even in the Bible approved of get rich quick schemes or name it, claim it etc. I am so thankful for your love for God’s Word and His Truth. Today’s prayer also encompassed some of Ezekiel 34 (hint, hint!!!!!! shameless I know 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🤗🤗🤗🤗🧡🧡🧡🧡). I am thankful for you and 13 days to go!!!!

  2. Thank you for this prayer and allowing us to join in, Mandylorian the Prayer Warrior! As you say, how great is the kingdom of God that we may all from our different walks of life gather in His presence and share in His grace and mercy for all our needs! May you be blessed and your family this month of October and beyond, dear sister, as we look to Him alone who loves us and gave His life for us.

  3. Wow its another month already. So fast. Good prayers. Against false teachers. Against falsehoods around us. I don’t see NAR around me much but I know its real and out there from WordPress responses.
May we also do good in this month!

  4. Beautiful prayer Mandy. Like that you started with being watchmen and lookouts, connecting it to your previous message on Ezekiel. I pray along with you for us to have wisdom and discernment and not to be deceived by false teachers and preachers 🙏🏽

    1. Thank you Manu for seeing the connection between this prayer and Ezekiel 33. Ezekiel 34 he prophesies against the false shepherds/leaders of Israel and compares them to being the antithesis of the future Good Shepherd. Ezekiel 34 ends with the covenant of peace (or new covenant Jer 31:31) foreshadowing the millennium. Sister, I am so thankful that the more we read and study the Bible Jesus Read, Loved and Fulfilled the more we will love Him. Thank You Manu for your heart for God, His Word and His people! You are loved!

    1. Thanks sister for joining me in prayer! Not to self promote, but I am really pondering Ezekiel 33 and 34 from my Watchmen post the other day. This sunroom was a labor of love with ripping up tile, painting etc. I totally understand being worn out from home renovations!!!

      1. Yes a fantastic and moving post (Watchmen) ..just read it!!
Now I really feel pressed to go have a chat with the couple of homeless men persistently standing at our Walmart corners….not good at this but I keep feeling the Holy Spirit’s pull.

      2. Ya I would definitely need to…I noticed a woman (who I’m familiar with) park her car and walk over and talk with one homeless guy and I can’t stop thinking about how their conversation must’ve went. I considered contacting her just to get an idea but I can’t get over how awkward my asking may sound.😅🤪

      3. Ah this makes me feel a bit of relief that someone else can relate! Its some of the hardest work for sure!! Makes you appreciate the finished product that much more…much like our love and praise for Jesus grows when we go through trials and come out on the other side.
