Mid November 2021 Prayer

Lord God, it is heavy on my heart to pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord God, prepare us not only for persecution but to be martyred for our faith in Christ. Lord God, while You are in the heart changing business when I read Your Word, I do not read there will be a great revival or a great spiritual awakening in the end times. Rather, I read there will be persecution and martyrdom.

Lord God, I know persecution and martyrdom are very real realities for my brothers and sisters all over the world. Lord God, help them to hold fast, stand firm and remember that You are Faithful and Just. Lord God, thank You that nothing that we suffer for You is ever in vain. Even if we do not understand why things are happening now, help us to be reminded there will be a day when we will see things more clearly. Lord God, help us to learn from those who have been persecuted and martyred. May we hide their stories in our hearts to encourage us in trying and difficult times.

Lord God, prepare us and guide us. Lord God, may believers never forget that nothing belongs to us. Not our lives, bodies nor resources, they are all Yours and You call us to steward what You have entrusted to us well. Prepare us to serve You faithfully in a world that is becoming more and more morally and ethically bankrupt, corrupt and void. Lord, may we fear You more than people.

Lord God, I pray for this reader. If they do not know Christ I pray that today is the day of salvation. Lord, for the reader who is in Christ I ask that You will calm any anxiety or worry they have about the future.

Lord God, may this reader allow You to prepare them for the future. Thank You and praise You Lord that You are faithful to keep Your promises. Thank You Lord there will be a day when Your people will no longer suffer and we will see You in all Your glory. Lord, help us to be a people who respond well to the challenges that are set before us rather than cowering in fear and trepidation. Holy Trinity, help us to die to self, pick up our cross and follow You. Holy Trinity prepare us for what lies ahead, so that we may glorify You. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. Mandy, I’m so excited to say this so I’m saying this half way on my reading. Thank you for being my voice re: revival. You give me courage also to add that the road might be dim but GOD’s grace shines for us for a far better future worshipping Him in Heaven.

    1. Amen, Kent! This has been seriously heavy on my heart for a few days and I felt convicted to pray. I am so thankful that God has used this prayer to encourage you. What a glorious and far better future it will be when we see Jesus face to face. Lots of love, prayers and blessings!

      1. Mandy, honestly, I salute your courage! 👍👍As much as I’d like to say it in the blog but I can’t discourage a national “theme” (or fever for a lack of a better word). Very true indeed, the Bible tells us of a more testing times ahead in this world than a feastivity. The glorious day will be in Heaven with the Triune GOD and that is what the Bible is making us see.

    1. Thank you for joining me, Manu! It grieves me how in some Christian circles the world over are attempting to prepare people for a spiritual revival instead of warning believers that there is a falling away (apostasy) from the faith not a revival. We will be persecuted and martyred. This world is not getting better and rapidly moment by moment it is getting worse. I love you Manu!

  2. Amen 🙏
It has become increasingly clear to me too Mandy that there will be no end times revival of new believers. I believe that any revival will be within the depth and quality of existing believers in the church, but not in numbers which will actually decrease as some fall away. The persecution of believers is quietly increasing in the ‘safe’ Western nations such as Canada, UK, and even Finland; mostly ignored by mainstream media, which pleases Satan. May we deepen our faith in Him, preparing ourselves for the hard times ahead.

    1. I am in 100% agreement with you, Alan. I thought of emailing you the other day because I read an article about transgenderism in Scotland and I was like dear God, let this not be true! God have mercy on us as we stand firm in the faith. Love and blessings to you and Susan!

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Every line here is so meaningful and faith worthy.
Revival mania does nothing but divert us from God’s unchanging word and pump up our own will – a spiritual crime of misrepresenting the Lord.
Thank you for reminding us to hold all things loosely with shallow attachments in this world.
Praying with you sister, with love. ❤

    1. “Revival mania does nothing but divert us from God’s unchanging word and pump up our own will – a spiritual crime of misrepresenting the Lord.” You are so right about this! I have a friend who is stuck in the NAR and everything is all about experience, supernatural, revival and yes, politics. There is so much deception and it is getting worse by the day! I appreciate you and David E who are constantly admonishing believers to open and read their Bibles! Persecution and martyrdom are no longer if, but when. I don’t say that in glee or joy but in truth, honesty and love. I am meditating on the courage of the saints who left the Sanhedrin rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering dishonor for Christ (Acts 5:41). Love, hugs and blessings!

      1. Seriously Mandy, the fellowship of like minded believers is so refreshing and encouraging – thank you!
I truly believe that the Lord connects His body together to honor Him and lift up one another. We’re going to need each other more and more…

      2. You make my day; discussing truths nobody is seeing and willing to speak in church. “Revival mania does nothing but divert us from God’s unchanging Word and pump up our own will… I believe all proceedings of hardship Jesus enumerates that the world will suffer in Matthew 24 has been accomplished except the outright hatred and persecution the world will unleash on the church which will lead to the love of many waxing cold. One can see this taking place gradually contrary to the end time massive awakening messages that fill church alters today. Glad finding you brethren of the Word in Christ.

  4. Amen and Amen, Mandy. So timely your prayers as if we were talking without talking, which we are as we are in Christ through His Spirit who brings to mind all that concerns the body of Christ. God bless you, sister, and pray for me as I speak with a friend this afternoon to reassure and encourage in the Lord.

      1. Just cloudy skies here, no rain. I got out my leafblower this morning and did the other half of the backyard. Just two tarpfulls. The leaves aren’t falling much today so it’s up in the air whether I’ll get any tarps tomorrow. And the weatherwoman says it’s definitely going to rain here tomorrow.

      2. Having four days off in a row helps in getting caught up. I used to work on the leaves weekday afternoons when I was with Kodak and that made for extremely long days.

Almost finished with a self-published book by an ex-Catholic Christian. Decent for a self-published book but not one I would recommend. What books are you working on?

      3. Michael Heiser’s Unseen Realm is fascinating! Not saying I agree with everything he’s saying but fascinating nonetheless. I have a book on Nahum that’s quite good. Also reading a lot of commentaries as part of my devotional time. Nathan and I are in a discipleship class at our church so I read aloud Mark Dever’s 9 Marks of a healthy church (arg) Jerry Bridges Who Am I? And some other book. We are also reading MacArthur’s systematic theology book. I told the discipleship pastor at dinner on Monday that he needs to reconsider this book! The class focus is on discipling others no one would use this in discipling. I am going to respond to Kreeft later today or tomorrow.

  5. Amen! Nothing we ever suffer for Him is in vain, like you said. This is a hard prayer to read because I do not want these things to be true. But they are, and may God prepare us for whatever hardship and suffering we may face. Blessings to you, friend. I’m thankful for your strong faith.

  6. Amen!!! I hear people preaching about some great national revival…. But they use scripture out of context, and form a straw man argument to say that “God’s word says so”. From my reading, I see things getting WORSE, not better!!! I even listened to a guy, ,”Dutch Sheets” who told of a dream (which totally causes red flags for me) in which a DEAD evangelist, Duncan Campbell tells him about a revival coming! (Deuteronomy 18 comes to mind!!!)🚨🚨🚨🚨 This dream has no basis in scripture!!! It makes me shudder to think about what will happen to these folks when persecution comes!!! In China, when the communists were coming to power, the common preaching was that God was going to rapture the Church, because Mao and company were the Antichrist! Then, they came in to the church, dragged out Pastors and killed or imprisoned them!!! We here in America are unprepared for that, and A LOT of people’s faith is about to be shaken!!!!! We better buckle up!!! The only good thing is the statement that’s been said… And it’s true… “The blood of the martyrs waters the seeds of the Church”… God will never leave or forsake His people, but He’s gonna allow us to go through some STUFF!!!! Pray for the unprepared American Church!

  7. Answering your question: I recommended Fee’s book on Bible interepretation for years but a few years ago I was thinking if there might be others; I then moved to recommend Sproul’s book which title escapes me at the moment but then I was wondering what’s still maybe a better book to recommend…I really do like How to Understand and Apply the New Testament by Andrew David Naselli which I unfortunately never got around finishing (maybe next year) but its only for the NT. But I haven’t recommended it to some people because I think it might be hard for them. So yeah, that’s where I’m at and hence my question

    1. Have you read the hermeneutical spiral?! Also, thank you for letting me be part of the youth! The part about soil and prayer came to my mind at the end so thank you for not thinking that was nuts! This lesson will end up as a blog if that’s ok?! The one on work from earlier this year on proverbs with the youth, is one of my best performing posts of 2021.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us so we may offer up the same prayer. To Him be the glory!❤️
