21 January 2022 Sunset

Father God, thank You for Your extraordinary color at the close of a very cold day! Lord God, thank You that the sun always comes out to set. Lord God, thank You that each sunrise and sunset are glimpses of Your Majesty, Might and Glory! Lord, I am humbled and awed by how involved You are with Your Creation. No wonder David said, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?” (Ps 8:3-4 ESV).

Lord God, help Your young people to stay pure this weekend. Lord God, fill our youth with the peace of Your presence this weekend. Lord God, there is so much garbage in the world enticing Your young people to sin. Lord for those who are more mature in the faith, may they not forget what it was like to be young. Lord God, may those of us who are older in years not look down on the younger with contempt but rather with a heart to serve, mentor and guide.

Lord God, thank You for this reader. Lord, whether this reader is younger or older, new believer or seasoned saint, may they marvel at being a new creation in Christ. Lord God, for the reader who does not know You, may they seek Jesus while there is still time. Thank You and praise You Lord for who You are and how You work. Amen.

      1. I meant the movie 12 Strong, sorry about that! That story is incredible. As to the 13 hours movie, corruption runs deep. The fact that half (if not more) of our current administration was a major player in that debacle shows how dark DC is. I don’t know if I should say this on here, it is a disgrace how often our politicians sell guns to bad folks only for those folks to turn around and use guns and weapons against us. Nathan and I were talking how more and more we thank God for being a part of His Kingdom. So thankful for you, Nancy and kiddos!!!

  1. Breathtaking colors!!
Love the words of your prayer, praying for the younger generation. As time turns, the world gets rougher, there’s so many teens trying to navigate through life without Jesus..they truly need our prayers—that they may come to know Him. And those who are already saved, may they point their peers to Him without hesitation.

    1. Amen to teens pointing their peers to Jesus without hesitation!!! We were talking about that in youth group on Wednesday! I am sure your kids friends like hanging out with y’all because you are real people and tweens and teens to see adults authentically living for Christ! So thankful for you, Alicia!!!!

  2. Great sunset capture Mandy. We have had very cold and colorful moments here as well.
No matter how cold our world is, God will display his glory to the world through his people. Gods people will always be colorful and the worlds void of color…your photo of color from the sun is a visual parable to those who would have eyes to see the colors reflected through us from the son..

    1. Amen, Gary! What you said is exactly my thoughts and I hope others read your comment and are encouraged! We are Christ’s Ambassadors and Image bearers, what a mighty call and responsibility. Praise God the Light of Christ will NEVER be extinguished, He will always leave a remnant! Love and blessings to you and your family! I am eager to see and hear about your cold and colorful moments!

      1. I’ll post a couple pictures when I get a chance Mandy. Right now the fish are biting and people think I’m bragging if I post too many fish pictures. I could actually post a bunch of blank photos of just snow to show how man times I have caught no fish. Being we have some thick ice I can’t be like the disciples and fish on the other side of the boat.
