I See the Moon

The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours;
the world and all that is in it, you have founded them
(Psalm 89:11 ESV).

It’s not everyday that I wake up at 6am to a full moon! What an awesome and amazing way to start the day! What an excellent reminder that the Lord knows and holds it all!

Lord God, thank You and praise You that the sun and moon rise and set on Your time schedule. Thank You Lord that as You know the number of the sand on the seashore, so too do You know those who belong to You. Thank You and praise You Lord for how You use creation to point people to Yourself. Lord, as this world spirals more and more out of control, help Your people to be witnesses, testifying to who You are and what You have done in our lives.

Thank You Lord for the beauty of creation. Thank You Lord that You are mindful of humans and that You loved us so much to send Jesus into this world. Thank You Jesus for dying on our behalf to forgive us from sin so that those who may believe in Your Name will spend eternity with You. Thank You Holy Spirit for convicting us of our need for Jesus and for sealing us with Your Spirit.

It is beyond my comprehension that someday Lord Jesus we will see You face to face. Lord, help us to look for ways to marvel at the works of Your Hands even in the midst of everything that is going on. Thank You Jesus for this reader. Draw this reader closer to You and to Your heart so that others may see You in them. Thank You Lord for today. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. What a beautiful view to start your day with. And I agree with you Mandy, it is beyond comprehension to think that we would see our Lord face to face. I cannot imagine what that would feel like.
Blessings sis 😊. So good to see your post. Trust that you are doing well.

      1. Spring starts in September. We are having quite a bit of rain and gloomy weather. It has been a very wet winter this year for us. Cannot wait for more sunshine.

    1. Blessed night to you and blissful slumber, Kent! It humbles me how God works in His creation. I am so thankful for the work that you do Kent to point people to Jesus and for your vocation of working with the environment. So many things are occurring and if we did not have Jesus we would be panicking and fearful too. I am thankful for you, Kent and I pray you. know that!!!!!! 🤗🙏🧡

  2. Hi Mandy! Great picture! I was admiring the full moon myself, last night. It was beautiful. As I admired its beauty, I thought about the fact that the earth I stood on was spinning and revolving around the sun. I thought about the fact that that full moon was revolving around the earth. It’s all quite amazing to say the least. I wish I would have taken a photo last night like you did. Maybe I’ll get another chance tonight. Blessings, Mandy!

    1. Hi, Cindy! I didn’t get to take a picture last night, we were driving and there was too many buildings. I was genuinely surprised to see it this morning! I hope you will be able to see the moon and take a picture tonight!!!! Love and blessings to you, Cindy!!!!!

    1. Thanks, Gary! I was thinking about the leaves changing on my walk this morning! When do your leaves start to turn?! I am going to have an elm tree planted sometime in the next month. It is a late spring bloomer, but it will keep its leaves deep into fall when all the other leaves are gone! If I may ask, do you have a favorite tree?! Mine is the willow. I am thankful for you, Gary!!!!!!!

    1. Amen to not taking God’s creation for granted, Alicia!!!! That picture is from the side of my backyard. We have had some rain lately to help make the grass green, it had been pretty brown and dry for a few weeks. How is the weather in your area? How are you doing? When does the school year start for y’all?! Lots of love, hugs and blessings!!!!!

    1. It is normally not this bright or large! Last night was really intense. I was going to send you a picture but too many buildings!!! I do sometimes wonder about the moon and prophecy, especially with being a people who kept a lunar calendar but that is a conversation outside of here!!! Love ya dear sister!!!!!

      1. Sometimes we have moons at night or more accurately dusk, that are just giant and full and bright and intense! It’s pretty amazing. Yes, we should definitely have that prophecy conversation! So interesting. Love and hugs back to you.

      2. Just to clarify… I don’t in anyway mean to imply that blood moons are significant in terms of eschatological prophecy. Maybe, but probably not. Other than the final blood moon in Revelation 6, that is. But it is an interesting subject considering that some have fallen on significant Hebrew dates and Israel is on a lunar calendar.

  4. Mandy, I was noticing in the middle of the night that the full moon was shining like a spotlight! Of course, the moon itself doesn’t shine, it reflects the light of the sun, and that always makes me think of what we (believers) are here for – to reflect the light of the Son. 😉 I am in awe that He can shine through us so brightly in spite of our faults and flaws. ❤

We’ve been taking a nightly walk before bed for a while now. we’ve watched the moon move from being almost blood red to being so bright we wanted some sunglasses!

it’s awesome to see such God designed beauty!

    1. Yes it is, Andy! Few things stop me in my tracks like the sun, moon and stars. How much more beautiful is the light of Jesus!!! You are such an encouragement, Andy! Lots of love and blessings to you and your family! Keep shining for Christ in y’all’s ministry!!!

    1. Thank you, Bruce! When I was little my mom and I would sing “I see the moon” together and she would always hug me when we got to the part “shine on the one I love” (ah, I am getting teary eyed writing this!!!). God is shining on you and Peggy, Bruce. It may seem dark, darker than I can even imagine, but I know that your love shines on Peggy even if she may not know it, your love is there because Christ’s love shines through you. One day at a time, I know. Praise God His light is truly enough for each and every day. Lots of love, hugs and blessings!!!!
