September 2022 Prayer

Lord God, thank You for this new month. Lord God, thank You that Your mercies are new every single morning! Thank You Lord that You are in control and that You know what is happening even when we do not! Lord God, help us to live more like Christ in this new month!

Lord God, help us to NOT be like the scribes and the Pharisees who preach but do not practice (Matt 23:3). Help us Lord to be hearers, preachers and doers. Help us Lord to have words and deeds that glorify You, encourage believers and that point the lost to Jesus. Lord God, help us to not get bogged down with the sin that we see around us. Help us to cling more to You than to this world and our possessions. Help us Lord to prepare for the coming difficulties that we will face; may we prepare in faith and not fear. May we prepare in a manner that pleases You and not pleases ourselves. Lord God, as times become darker and more difficult, help us to care for people, may we not seek our own interests, but take an interest in others as well.

Lord God, thank You and praise You for the opportunity to see Your end time events unfold. Lord God, I know every generation since Christ’s ascension to heaven has thought this, may we not take the time that You have given us for granted.

Lord God, as You and Your Word are attacked more and more in the Western world, help Your people to be confident that Your Holy Spirit will give us words and guide us when we need to speak and stand for You. May we not shrink back in fear, may we not lose heart, may we keep pressing on, knowing that our eternity is safe and secure in You.

Lord God, I thank You and praise You that when You are ready You will hold all those who persecute and oppress Your people accountable. Lord God, I thank You and praise You there will be a day when You will put to an end food, weather, monetary, government corruption and manipulation. I thank You and praise You Lord that You are Just and that You will vindicate Your people. Lord Jesus, help us to not lose sight that You are our Victorious, Overcoming and Soon Returning King. Lord God, You amaze me! Lord, help us this month to be more like John the Baptist stating, “I must decrease and He must increase.” Lord, help us to increase our faith, trust, obedience and dependence on You this month.

Help us Lord to speak with unbelievers who are questioning what they see happening around them that does not make sense. May we affirm to them that without Jesus Christ like makes absolutely no sense and that everything is truly meaningless. Lord God, fill Your people with renewed passion and vigor for You this month!

Lord God, for those who are returning to school may You in Your common grace give them teachers and professors who care about ethics, morality and common sense, even if they are unbelievers. Lord God, for parents who have children going to school, Lord may they not forsake helping their children process what they are learning, even if they go to Christian school. Lord God, for those who are preparing for summer break, help them to finish their school year well. Prepare their parents to have their children home again this summer!

Lord God, thank You for the opportunity to pray with my brothers and sisters online! I know the internet is full of all kinds of evil, filth and trash; however, thank You for this platform and may Christians use the internet responsibly! May we never forget that You know every spoken and unspoken thought that enters our minds! Help us to be mindful in what we are taking in and pouring out. Lord God, help us to be more like Christ in our internet interactions.

Lord God, thank You for this reader! It is a joy and an honor to pray for men and women created in Your image. How much more amazing it is Lord to pray with and for likeminded believers. Lord God, for the person reading this blog who does not know Jesus, may today be the day of salvation. May today be the day where they acknowledge they are a sinner and that they need Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Master. Lord God, for my fellow believers, may we share Christ and be like Christ even more. Thank You Holy Trinity for this reader and for this new month. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. Praying with you. This is it: ” Help us Lord to be hearers, preachers and doers. Help us Lord to have words and deeds that glorify You, encourage believers and that point the lost to Jesus. Lord God, help us to not get bogged down with the sin that we see around us. ”

Also praying that school is going well with you.

    Shalom!

    1. Thank you, brother! The Lord knows that I need love and encouragement! I take my last final tomorrow and I am super nervous!!!!! I received my course material for my next two classes that start on Tuesday so I am trying not to stress about that as well!!! Anyway, that’s more than you wanted to know!!! I won’t be able to Skype today, I have to take my mom to my brother’s house which is 2.5 hours away. I am thankful for you and Andreia, praying all is well with you both and with your job!

  2. So wonderful to join you in this prayer, Mandy, prayed with such wisdom, humility, and honesty. Sometimes its hard to know where to start praying in the long list of prayers for the world and for each other. You show us how, sister. Thank you sharing your light with us by the grace of God given to you.

      1. Yes, it was a very spiritually rich meeting…a blessing to us all. I saw you decline and knew you were busy Mandy, you were in our thoughts though. In fact your guest post “Taste And See” came into the conversation.
That’s a big drive, hope it went smoothly for you all. May our Father God guide and bless you in all you do, especially your studies. Amen 🙏

  3. Mandy, thank you for your prayer. We really need this prayer right now and in these times. My apologies for the late response, currently in a province for our office’s strategic planning. Blessings to you, Nathan, and your mom!

  4. This little nugget jumped out at me, from the heart of your prayer:
“…may we not take the time that You have given us for granted.”

How easily we can lose time – letting it simply slip away by not being intentional in all we do

Amen Mandy – thanks so much for these prayers!!

      1. You’re more than welcome Mandy.

As we enter a far more full season of ministry – with the new radio show starting this Sunday PM, as well as our own, regular material, I know on my heart that we are no busier than we should be.

But I also know that it is far too easy to let something go until a later time and time seems to have faded away during the week.

Jo and I have always taught our boys about front loading – for us that simply is about getting done what you can, when you can – in case something comes along later to prevent you.

It isn’t about working harder, so you can work harder again, but simply about working harder so you can rest harder and get all done that you have before you.

not brilliant wording from me…but it works for us anyway (hope it made sense?)

      2. Makes perfect sense! Work smarter not harder!!!! Ive never heard of front loading but it is something I am going to remind myself of when I feel like procrastinating!!! Thank you, Andy!!! Many blessings for your radio show, how exciting!!!!

        Sundays 4- 6pm (UK)

They’ve got listeners everywhere and have had US supporters/listeners since the beginning I think.

You listen via their app, or smart speaker, or their website

Our show is all about encouraging families

For example, how to help children stay connected to God during school or college or university and so on

The breakfast show guy (and CEO) keeps calling us a mature married couple lol

I supposed after 25 years plus of marriage we are…just never thought we’d be described as such

We’re actually having a belated 25th anniversary celebration on 9th September…10 months on from out actual 25th when we were both struck down with COVID

Blessings to you and yours Mandy

  5. Ah, Mandy! How I wish we could pray in person together! I really appreciate your passion for prayer and found myself silently saying “Amen!” throughout this prayer as I read it. Your words are so timely, and I love how you remind us to remember who God is. He is so merciful, but that does not trump His justice! I am so thankful that He knows exactly what He’s doing and that we can trust Him! This prayer post really encouraged me. Thank you! ❤

  7. Timely prayer to live it out the faith and also for those going back to school. I’m blessed with the conversations we had before you taught the youth group, its good for our kids to hear some matters of the craziness of the state of CA. Blessings!

  8. Responding to your comment: I wish Seminary would teach students how to use computer tools for translations as you said. Wow that’s interesting you guys are dabbling with Discourse Analysis; that we didn’t have at TMS. I wish to learn DA in the future

  9. Answering your question: I have been reading mainly books preparing for my upcmoing overseas teaching; however I did finish a book on the political dynamic within Japan that lead to their attack on Pearl Harbor; it was well done! Going to write a review of that hopefully on Friday/Saturday as a weekend fun read review. I was so fatigued today I had to read some Batman! Anything you reading for fun?
