October 2022 Prayer

Lord God, I pray for all those who have suffered loss from Hurricane Ian. Lord God, I pray for all those who have suffered loss from Typhoon Noru. Lord God, help my brothers and sisters in Christ cling to You even more this month. Lord God, thank You and praise You that this world is not our home. Lord God, comfort Your people in this time.

Father God, I pray that Your people will seek Your wisdom more this month. Lord God, so much negativity is competing for our attention. Help us to spend time in Your Word to counter all the bad, dark and discouraging news that we hear daily. Lord God, may we not shrink back in fear. May we continue to stand firm in our love and commitment to You. Help us to obey You Lord, even when it is costly.

Lord God, thank You that Your Spirit is with our brothers and sisters in persecuted areas. Lord God, may we never be too bold or too arrogant to think that we are above being deceived and persecuted. May we stay humble in You. May we holdfast to our identity in You. Lord God, help us to know who we are in Christ so that we will not believe the lies of the devil and the world.

Lord God, thank You for this reader. Thank You Lord for their heart to pray and to be prayed for. Lord God, may we pray more this month. May we commune more this month. Lord God, light our hearts on fire more for You this month. Lord God, may we not fear, but trust and believe only in You. May we look for opportunities to share Jesus with the unsaved around us. Holy Trinity, make us more sensitive to You and Your nudges this month. Teach us to be more like You. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. Praying with you Mandy, especially for the victims of Hurricane Ian and Typhoon Noru and many good petitions to ponder and pray for. Indeed, may the Triune GOD help us to know Him through His word, strengthen us to obey Him despite the world, and humble us if we forgot to. Blessings to you, Nathan, and your parents!

    1. Hi, Andy! I agree with what you are saying! I am so thankful the Holy Spirit knows how to pray and that the Spirit and Jesus intercede for us and on the behalf of others. How that happens is a mystery I have NO need to solve but accept by faith!!! How are you and your family doing?

      1. busy, busy, but all ok. preparing for winter…gonna be a tough time in the UK this year with energy bills rising as they have done

but we’ve also seen some amazing miracles of late that keep us reminded of God’s involvement in our life right now and in the future too

i guess i’m badly trying to say that God’s got us very much in the palm in His hand

how are you and your husband doing?

      2. We are good. We are bracing for higher heating prices here as well. We received a notice last month (in the dog days of summer) that natural gas was going up 7% effective immediately. I am with you about being in God’s hand! I keep telling myself that the more difficult life gets, the more the Holy Spirit will fill us to help us endure.

  2. Amen! Joining with you in prayer as so many of us have come to find our prayers in the words you relate to us. Thank You So Much Mandy for all that you do! When in times of trouble [needing encouragement] a word from God, a word from a friend or words of Praise lift me up. I will sing of my Redeemer and His Love for me! Looking to that Blessed Hope! Praying for your studies too, Greek 3, Systematic Theology, deep dive. Take heart my friend, be of good cheer, Press On!

    1. Dave, your words are right on time! I am taking a Greek test in 1 hour and I am so very overwhelmed, I know that God is good and that my Greek test is NOTHING compared to what so many are facing. I am so thankful for you, Dave! May God continue to grow you and reveal more of Himself to you in your personal time and in your studies! Someday we will see our King in His Beauty and how amazing it will be!!!!! Thank you again for this!!!

  4. Amen! I hadn’t heard of the typhoon. Where did that hit?! It seems like we are seeing so many natural disasters, diseases,.and destruction as of late. As disheartening as it.can be, I believe God is using this as a wake up call for unbelievers and even the church to be strong in our faith and active in sharing it. Like you prayed, I pray too, God, that we will never be so proud to think we can’t be deceived. Keep us in Your truth and give us a growing passion for our faith and for reaching the loss while there is yet time. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you for your faithful witness, Mandy! I really appreciate you!

  5. Thank you, Mandy. I appreciate your prayers for your readers. I do see blogging as a ministry, and it’s a blessing to have people comment, “This is just what I needed today.” I suspect in heaven we will hear a lot of “God stories” where our writings (and prayers) have played a part. 🙂
