December 2022 Prayer

Father God, as this new month dawns help us to draw closer to You. Lord God, teach us to walk in Your ways. Give us boldness and confidence to denounce and call out evil where we see it.

Thank You Lord God that You will hold all people accountable who do inexplicable things to children. Lord God, help us to value and affirm life more this month. Lord God, may we as Christians stop platforming and following celebrities and people of this world who do NOT care about You, Your Word and how You call Your people to live. Help us Lord to separate ourselves from evil. Help us to defend the cause of widows and orphans more this month. Lord God, may we be quick to defend Your Word this month even if it is costly.

Lord God, I know that not everyone who reads this blog celebrates Christmas; however, may we all take time to meditate on the fact that the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, took on flesh and dwelt among us.

Lord God, may we mediate more this month on how costly the Incarnation really was. Lord God, may we cling to You more this month than to this dying world.

Help us to point people to Jesus more this month. Lord God, it breaks my heart how far society has fallen. It grieves me how bankrupt, evil and wicked we have become. Lord God, while we grieve may we not lose heart or hope that Christ is Victorious, He is reigning and He is soon returning, Amen!

Lord God. thank You for this reader. May this reader grow in You more this month. Lord God, help us to think Your thoughts more this month. Help us to remain in Your perfect peace. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

      1. Honestly, I’ve been so distracted by work and wedding planning I’ve not spent time with God like I used to and it’s getting to me! I’ve prayed for change so long now that it’s here it’s like a tornado and freaking me out. So much uncertainty and change at once, but the one thing I’ve been asking myself is “Why would God not tell me where to go next when He’s taken care ofme this far??” Like he would just suddenly forget me or leave me alone. I thought of a post you had a while back about a nervous breakdown for no reason and yes… haha.

I need to prioritize my relationship with God. I think of how I used to spend hours reading and now I don’t at all. I never thought that would happen to me and it’s showing!

So, in summary, “I’m fine!” haha!

      2. Aimee, I can absolutely understand what you are going through!!!! I want you to have my email and you can contact me ANYTIME als0810@comcast.net. I know what it is like to fight to have time alone with the Lord. Fighting time constraints, fighting busyness and yes fighting our own personal apathy toward God and His Word. I am so thankful for you Aimee and I would love to connect with you outside of WP!!!

    1. Thank you Andy!!!!! I am so thankful that the Lord highlighted that on your heart too! What a blessing!!!!! How are you and the UK today?! I don’t follow the Royals much, but I am sorry to hear they are having such a rocky start on their US visit. If this is too political or rude, please tell me!!! It is NOT my intention to offend or anything like that! My goal in life is to point people to Jesus and to encourage them not cause issues!!!!

      1. i read about a storm overshadowing their visit

to be honest, it all seems like the newspapers must be really bored because someone, who is not part of the royal family, asked questions it seems someone was upset about being asked

beyond that i gave up reading…seems more like an excuse to sell papers if you ask me

and, no, i can’t conceive anything you said that could be considered either rude or political 🙂

Your goal is one you do well!

      1. Thanks! We’re looking forward to going back to the church after our colds abate. We have a phone interview with the pastor next week. I’m definitely not going outside today and messing with decorations again. That was foolish doing that yesterday.

      2. Thanks! I had to do a little driving around yesterday, which then led to starting on the outside decorations. Enthusiasm (hers) overcame better judgement. Nope. Not today.

If there’s one thing many celebrities have taught us is that being fan bois of them is going to disappoint you big time if you follow God. I think of Kanye West (Ye) latest thing with saying he likes Hitler…and how yesterday some who I know support Kanye was also saying that was going too far.
    Great prayer

  5. Answering your question: Day off is good! Homeschool, taught on Exodus again to kids, walking while reading (almost done with a book) and met with another pastor for dinner who I want to see if he can be a future guest speaker for my church….a good day off!

  6. I love the contrast of this season—how, as it grows darker out, homes and businesses are illuminated by Christmas lights. May they remind us to shine brighter as the darkness grows! Much love to you, Mandy! Merry Christmas!
