Good Friday

Photo taken by Mandy Sweigart-Quinn.

This is the second year I have had this cherry tree, and it is WAY more white this year (not sure the pictures do it justice!). I cannot help but to praise God that He has taken our sin and made us white as snow. Praise God there will be a day, that all our sin, suffering and toil will be no more. Praise God that the blood of Christ makes us clean and whole. While Good Friday was costly to the Triune God, so thankful for the gift of salvation that Jesus has provided for us.

Lord God, thank You for the gift of salvation that is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Lord God, thank You that no sin is beyond Your capability to forgive. Lord God, thank You for Jesus. Thank You Jesus for Your work on the Cross. Lord God, draw this reader closer to You. Thank You Lord for this reader. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. The cherry 🍒 tree is beautiful. I can see a lot of cherry pies coming from that one. We had one next to our house growing up and we would get on the roof and pick away. 😀

The post is excellent. True love on display from the Trinity. We are blessed now in Him and throughout eternity!

  3. A cherry tree. Mandy, I have not touched a cherry tree but I ate cherries either fresh(ly packed) or on a cake, mixed in the fruit salad, and the good old ice cream. Taking cue from your edifying, concise, and effective Good Friday (I would say, Salvation Friday) message, the Triune GOD’s gift of salvation is like a cherry tree in this example. One can’t grasp it (physically while on earth) but one can experience bits and bits of it, all by GOD the FATHER’s grace in CHRIST JESUS. Blessings to you, Nathan, your mom, and your extended family!

  5. Thanks for the thoughts and photos, Manday. Yes, praise God that the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin!
That’s a beautiful blossoming cherry tree in your yard. We had a big cherry tree in our backyard growing up and in mid to late June I would sit in its branches and eat cherries until I couldn’t eat anymore.

  7. What a beautiful tree, such a time to enjoy and take in the beauty of His creation through nature. I love Spring with it’s reminder of freshness all around. So thankful our faith through Jesus’ work and love on the cross and our belief in Him gives us the opportunity of a fresh start…nothing to be taken for granted.
    Blessings sweet Mandy!!
