May 2023 Prayer

Father God, remind us Lord that this is the month, day and second that You have made. Let us rejoice and be glad in this time that You have given us, no matter how difficult it may be.

Lord God, help us to face this new month in boldness and confidence. Help us to face this month exalting You and not ourselves. As chaos abounds and surrounds, may we cling to Your peace. Praise You Jesus that You are Peace. That Peace is indeed a Person and not some abstract thought, feeling or emotion.

Lord God, lead us and guide us this month. May we seek to grow in Christ this month. Lord God, it is the cry of my heart to apply Your Word. Lord God, You care WAY more about our character than what we know. And what we do know, You require us to display in our lives and to act upon it. James tells us very clearly that it is sin to know what to do and not do it.

Help us Lord to not just talk about You this month but to talk with You. To hear You in and through Your Word. Lord God, may we be a people who are like David, seeking Your face. May we long to dwell in Your house more than we want to dwell here on earth. Lord God, please God, protect the young people who do not know anything different than what is happening in this world now. Help believers Lord to navigate and fight the tension of living like Christ in an increasingly hostile world.

Lord Jesus, what a joy it is to serve You. Jesus I ask that You will be our Master more and more. I ask Jesus that You will increase in our lives and that we will decrease. Remove our pride and arrogance. Open our eyes and ears to where we are falling prey to deception and lies.

Lord God, thank You for this reader. Lord, may this reader be blessed by Your salvation this month. May this reader seek Your Kingdom first. Praise You Jesus that Your Kingdom is already, but not yet. Praise You Jesus that You will return. May we be motivated to live by Your Spirit knowing that whether we are alive when You return or meet You in death, may we live confidently that You are who You say You are and that You will bring us home to You, where we will dwell in Your shalom forever and ever and ever.

Lord God, reveal to us what we are holding to tightly this month. Reveal to us Lord where we have set up idols. Reveal to us where we are placing things and people above You. Lord Jesus, I praise You that You are seated on the Throne and that You know the end from the beginning. Lord, again teach us to number our days. Not for greater gain or future reward but because we love You and long to please and glorify You. Thank You again for this reader Lord. May they be encouraged and be an encourager more this month. May all Your people glorify You more this month. In Jesus’s Name I pray. Amen.

  1. May we talk with the Triune GOD more; pray more to Him who is in absolute control of His creation, especially in these uncertain times. Thank you so much for your wonderful prayer, Mandy! I still need to watch the entire season of Grogu, Mandylorian; busy visiting Universities in different parts of the country. Btw, there is this clip in the Beef series (Netflix) where one of the protogonist looks repenting in the Church. Blessings to you, Nathan, your mom, and your extended 🐶🌱 family!

Nathan and I are interested to hear what you think of this season of Mandolorian. I just watched that episode yesterday; however, I don’t know about the rest of the show. Have you seen the whole season?!?!

      1. 🤗 Mandy, thank you so much for your prayers!! 😊 I still have to watch episode 1. Yes, too many series to watch mu friend, including Star Trek Picard S3. Definitely I will watch Grogu first before the others and I’ll email my take on season 2. I heard on Youtube that they won and have retaken their home planet. Probably, a good season.

      1. Thanks, Mandy! Gracie is doing good, thanks. I’ll be doing an update on her soon because we had to buy suspenders for her diapers due to they kept falling down. She rarely goes in her diaper if we take her out regularly. I think her swimming days are over, so I’m glad we went to the beach several times last summer.
        How is PQ doing?

      2. Heartbreaking, Tom! I am so sorry!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏 PQ is good he must have “enjoyed” something terrible in the yard the other day because his stomach was making the worst noises and he wasn’t very active, praise God that has passed!!!! I have only been keeping up with the Phillies, how are your Padres doing?!?!

      3. Thanks, Mandy! I’m glad PQ got over his illness. Yes, dogs love to get into things in the yard they shouldn’t. Gracie loved to roll in deer droppings!
After a very slow start, the Pads are finally starting to heat up, winning 8 of their last 11. I’m still somewhat focused on the N.Y. Knicks who beat Cleveland in the first round, but now have their hands full with Miami. I hope the Phillies and Pads meet up in the NLCS again!

      4. I want your New York Knickerbockers to beat the Miami Heat. Dwayne Wade is insufferable and not because of his social views, I was never a fan of his!!!! That would be great about the Phillies and Padres! Also Eagles Chargers would be an exciting Super Bowl!!!!!

      5. Thanks! The Knicks had a strong rivalry with the Heat during the Ewing years and there’s still some emotion. Yeah, I’m not a fan of Wade either. The Knicks didn’t look good in game #1. I hope they can turn it around tonight. The Chargers made a poor choice in selecting Brandon Staley as head coach. They’ll never get past the Chiefs with him driving the bus.

    1. I am SO grateful for your boldness and confidence in the Lord, Dean! I don’t know why God has you going through all that You are but I know one thing God NEVER wastes a hurt. I know that sounds cliche and corny but I can testify to the goodness of God in pain, sorrows and trials and that He refined my character and brought me to a greater knowledge of Himself through the difficulties. Sending much love to you and Andreia as well!!!

  6. Mandy, there are so many important prayer points here! I read them yesterday and already see how the Lord is revealing things I might hold onto tightly…like my planned schedules! But much of our maturity is summed up here, “May we long to dwell in Your house more than we want to dwell here on earth”. Having a Kingdom view rather than an earthly view really changes our perspectives and priorities. I want that more and more.
Thank you sister for another godly start for a new month. I hope all is well with you, Nathan and PQ!

    1. Hi, Lisa!!! I am so glad these prayers speak to you. Yesterday I was really compelled to pray for our mindset, for our desires etc. I am so thankful for your desire to grow in Christlikeness!!! We are doing well! Lots of hugs to you, Bob and Starry. Will you be traveling this weekend?!

      1. Hi Mandy! Yes, we’re back in MA this weekend, continuing to pray for God’s leadership. Although its a bit difficult, I have to believe that this two-home lifestyle will lead to a fruitful planting in one place where we can serve and fellowship.

      2. Thanks so much Mandy! I haven’t posted anything in a long while as the Lord’s work in my life now is stretching my patience and trust in Him as I care for my mother. But I so appreciate reading the posts from beloved writers like you!!

  7. Oh, yes, Lord: “Open our eyes and ears to where we are falling prey to deception and lies.” Deception is rampant these days; truth is sometimes silenced or discredited. We pray that lies would be exposed and truth would shine with unmistakable authenticity so we will not be misled.

      1. I didn’t either, and I don’t know how regular I’ll get on here, but things were a little quieter this morning, so I decided to read some blogposts. Glad you’ll be getting a week off soon! I’m sure you need it!
